About Us

Sherborne ArtsLink Ltd is a registered charity (number 1007680) and a company limited by guarantee (number 2471382).  Formerly known as Sherborne Association for Community Arts, it has been active since at least 1984.

ArtsLink's objects are 'to promote, maintain, improve, encourage and advance education in the arts, including drama, mime, dance, music, cinema, television, radio, literature, painting, sculpture and decoration, together with any associated crafts or combination of these, for the benefit of the public’.

ArtsLink has a Service Level Agreement with West Dorset District Council (WDDC) in return for revenue funding agreed in a three year cycle.  The SLA sets out the standards and levels of arts provision which ArtsLink provides.  It is reviewed annually and is based on ArtsLink’s business plan.

ArtsLink is governed by its Council of Management (the Board of Trustees); development, control and management of activities is delegated to its two Co-Directors and staff.

Freelance Professional Artists and Tutors

We are always keen to hear from tutors who would be interested in joining our team to  deliver inspiring, high quality arts education in Sherborne and the local area.  All our tutors work on a freelance basis. 

We are also seeking tutors with specialisms to support the delivery of the ArtsLink Fizz! project 

We offer weekly/one day classes and workshops/lectures and demonstrations over a period of three termly programmes.  We would be keen to hear from professional artists and lecturers who feel they could make a positive contribution to the community and further enrich the programme we offer.

ArtsLink has a number of volunteer opportunities:

Minute Secretary for the Council of Management (Board of Trustees)
Stewards for our monthly Flicks
Assistants at Parkinson's Dance
Children and Family events - helping to facilitate art and craft activities
Event support - stewarding lectures and trips, and helping at community events
Helping with promotional material distribution and office tasks
