Thank you to everyone who helped us build this unique building.

What is the Art Cabin?

A sustainable, permanent building made from straw bales and wood, with a living roof.

Where is it?

In the grounds of the Youth Centre, Tinney’s Lane, Sherborne.

What's it for?

The roundhouse art cabin is available to the community to use for meetings and group activities.  In addition it provides young people with a space to explore their creativity, and provides the youth centre with an additional venue for its therapeutic group work.

Who was involved?

This was a partnership project between Sherborne ArtsLink and the Youth Centre.  Huff and Puff Construction lead the build, with input from volunteers including young people, individuals, groups and businesses from the local community.

Was provided by the Big Lottery as part of the Sherborne ArtsLink TakepArt project.  In addition local businesses supported the build by supplying some materials and labour at reduced or no cost.
