 'The Sherborne Carollers'

Eddie Upton (Folk South West)
The Sherborne Carollers - ArtsLink's new community singing group, led by Eddie Upton - Director of Folk South West and musical director of The Stanchester Quire, gave their first concert as part of the Cheap Street Church Christmas Tree Festival after only four weeks of singing rehearsals spent learning traditional Dorset Carols in four part harmony. These free choir workshops were open to anyone and were attended by over 40 people keen to enjoy singing together. No previous singing experience was necessary and participants did not need to read music as the carols were taught by ear. The concert was a joyous seasonal celebration of Dorset songs carols and stories and raised over £100 for charity as part of the festival.
